SOMALIA: AGOA, GLOBAL TRADE AND INVESTMENT SEMINAR
The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) is a United States Trade law that allows approved African countries to export certain goods to the United States tax-free. Total AGOA exports to the United States were $9.4 billion in 2022- Creating good-paying jobs and wealth across the African continent.
After more than 20 years of being absent from AGOA, Von Batten-Montague-York L.C., on behalf of the Somali Embassy in Washington, D.C., and the United Somali Alliance, has been lobbying and advocating for the United States Government to deem Somalia AGOA eligible. We have high hopes that, God willing, the Biden administration will announce soon that Somalia has been deemed AGAO eligible.
To ensure that Somali business men and women are prepared to take advantage of AGOA, Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C., will host an online seminar to provide vital information about AGOA and the United States government administrative rules, regulations, standards, and processes that must be followed to successfully export goods and products tax-free to the United States.
